Always reliable service

This isn't my first Firewalla purchase; I've been a customer for a few years now. This time I got a Firewalla Purple for a different property. Just like my previous Firewalla Gold, the setup was intuitive, and it just works. I appreciate the consistency in their product quality and delivery times. My order arrived in Texas within 5 days, which is what I've come to expect. Their network security monitoring has always been top-notch, and it's why I keep coming back. No surprises, just solid performance every time.

Love my Firewalla Gold SE!

Oh my gosh, I just got the Firewalla Gold SE and it is fantastic! The ad blocker works like magic, my internet feels so much faster now. It arrived so quickly, like 3 days to my house in Florida! I can see everything happening on my network, it's so cool. I am so glad I got this. It was worth every penny. Seriously, if you're thinking about it, just get one!

Good value overall

I was looking for a network security solution that wouldn't break the bank, so I decided to try the Firewalla Purple SE. I kept an eye out for a sale, but ended up buying it at full price, though it still felt like a decent deal compared to other options. Shipping took about a week to get to my place in Ohio. Set up was fairly straightforward. I'm happy with the features for the cost. It seemed like the best value for what I needed.

Works as advertised

Bought a Firewalla Blue Plus. Delivery took 5 days to reach Denver. Set it up easily. The ad blocker works. No issues.

Solid device, minor hiccup

I purchased the Firewalla Gold Plus a few weeks ago after doing some research on network security. The device itself is robust and the features like the intrusion prevention system and ad blocker work really well. Shipping was quick, got it in about 4 days to California. My only minor gripe was that the initial setup instructions felt a little overwhelming with all the options, but once I got through it, everything has been smooth sailing. The network flow visibility is a big plus, but a clearer quick-start guide could improve the first-time experience.

What's the deal with returns if I buy one and decide it's not for me? Is it a hassle, or pretty straightforward?

T Todd 2 months ago
Returns were pretty easy for me last year. Just follow their instructions on the site and you're good.

I haven't returned hardware, but I had a warranty issue with an adapter and their support was super responsive. So I imagine returns are handled well too, they seem to care about customer service.

My internet speed is 1.2 gigabit. Will the Firewalla Purple SE be able to handle that without bottlenecking or should I go for something higher like the Gold?

B Beth M. 1 month ago
Purple SE is good for up to gigabit. If you're consistently over that, like 1.2, you might see some slowdowns, especially with all the features turned on. The Gold series is built for multi-gig.

I have the Purple SE and 1gig internet, it's totally fine. But for 1.2, I'd probably go Gold Plus just to be safe and future-proof a bit.

Thinking of grabbing a Firewalla Gold for my home setup. How long does shipping usually take to, say, Miami?

O Omar R. 2 months ago
Mine got to Orlando in about 4-5 days, I think. Standard shipping.

Yeah, I'm in South Florida too. Ordered a Purple SE last month and it was here within a week. They ship pretty quick usually.

Is there ever a time to actually get a discount on these things? Like, do they do Black Friday sales or anything?

C Colin Marsh 2 months ago
Black Friday is probably your best bet. That's when I got my Gold Plus, saved like 30 or 40 bucks. But not huge discounts usually.

They don't do coupon codes much, it's more like bundle deals or those big holiday sales. Keep an eye out for those seasonal peaks like Cyber Monday.

I'm torn between the Firewalla Gold Plus and a Ubiquiti UniFi setup. Anyone have experience with both and can tell me which one is better for a relatively advanced home user?

P Paula Patel 2 months ago
Depends what you want. Firewalla is way easier for set-and-forget deep security and visibility. UniFi is more flexible for networking components but less hands-off for security features.

I switched from UniFi to Firewalla Gold Plus. Firewalla's app is fantastic, and the ad blocking and intrusion prevention just works. UniFi felt like more tinkering, which can be fun, but I wanted something more robust on the security side without constant management.
